About
I'm a builder and a writer. I've spent the last thirteen years in Mongolia, where I co-founded a furniture company, Precision Kraft, and a university — the American University of Mongolia, which I now serve as president — and am raising a family.
I write about whatever question I can't let go of, and usually I can't let it go until the data answers it. For eight years those questions were about Mongolia. Now they're mostly about America, at American Metrics.
I also send a weekly Mongolia newsletter of news, politics, and economics, and run Data.mn, a project to make Mongolia's statistics accessible and searchable.
